US Open-finals 2013: Djokovic - Nadal or ...?

On Saturday in New York Finalists final tournament "Grand Slam" in the 2013 season - the U.S. Open. Of the first four "seeded" the semi US Open-2013 got only two - Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, and the third and fourth place rackets tournament Andy Murray and David Ferrer took Stanislas Wawrinka and Richard Gasquet, who beat most of these rackets.

It is clear that in both the semi-final pairs (Djokovic - Wawrinka and Nadal - Richard Gasquet) is the clear favorite, but that does not mean that the battle will turn Saturday predictable and boring.

Novak Djokovic - Stanislas Wawrinka: AFTER THE BATTLE

Novak Djokovic and Stanislas Wawrinka have met each other on the court 14 times (total score - 12:2 in favor of the Serbs), but one meeting stands alone.

And not because it is the most current.

In the fourth round of Australian Open this year, Djokovic and Wawrinka stretched showdown for more than five hours and finished the match with a score of only 12:10 in the fifth. Serb later won the title (his fourth in Australia and sixth in the tournament "Grand Slam" in his career), and Wawrinka now calls that game, though, and lose, a turning point in the 2013 season. In a season in which he scored seven (including the current tournament) wins over Top-10 players, he came back in the top ten, and now for the first time in his career semifinal Major's.

The Swiss said that he was confident in himself and in his game like never before, and that's what helped him not to take a back seat in the quarterfinal match against defending champion and third US Open "seeded" Andy Murray. Victory over which this confidence, I think, will only strengthen. In Melbourne Wawrinka virtually nothing inferior to the first racket of the world (and at certain points and surpassed it), so why should it not repeat it in New York? And before you know it, it will be possible to fight for the victory. The recipe for success for compatriot and friend Roger Federer one - attack, attack and attack again. And it turned out at the tournament Stanislas very well.

Djokovic in New York, however, is no less impressive. In five games, he lost only one set (Michal South in the quarterfinals) and only once allowed an opponent (Benjamin Becker in the second round) to get to the tie-break. And in the last three games (and the South in particular) Serb was generous with "donut". After a not very successful series of preparatory tournaments first "seeded" scored on US Open an excellent course and is clearly not going to stop.

We do not know whether there is a new meeting with Djokovic Wawrinka as crazy as in Australia, but it will most certainly interesting.

Rafael Nadal - Richard Gasquet: In the 11th time

Richard Gasquet held at the US Open-2013 probably the best tournament "Grand Slam" of his career. After winning two consecutive five-set match at completely different style of play rivals (in Milos Raonicha in the fourth round and David Ferrer in the quarter-finals), he for the second time in his career and the first since the 2007 Wimbledon semifinals.

Now it is waiting for test in the face of Rafael Nadal - tennis, which he did not win any of the ten meetings in a professional manner, and in the last five and did not take a single set. And to do what was not possible before, now it will be very difficult. Nadal on hard courts this season is phenomenal. He did not lose a single meeting on this surface, bringing the number to 20 consecutive victories.

And for all US Open, he never (!) Did not give opponents the game on his serve. And Gasquet, with all due respect to him now does not look to those who can stop the Spaniard. Apparently, Nadal really missed New York last year, when the tournament was missing due to injury and is now eager to go all the way to the end.
